S. said, "We haven't gotten any frantic phone calls from the airport, so I guess they're on their way. Valera showed no signs of being sick this morning. Everyone left in high spirits with lots of stuff. The girls left really nice thank-you notes on their pillows. We really enjoyed having them and getting to do things with Sasha. We enjoy being surrogate grandparents. And I thoroughly enjoyed sharing the experience with Pam. I sure wish Nebraska wasn't so far away. We're going to miss you all!"
O. took Sasha around Kyiv to see a few sights. This is the funicular, a cog train ride that takes passengers from river-level up a steep hill, where St. Michael's church is. Adrienne and Rachel also took this ride, and sat next a romantic couple. Adrienne and Rachel had flight bags at hand, just in case.
These are the steps to St. Andrew's. It is right next to the State Department of Adoption, where we started our blessed adventure. They must have thrown some fish bits down the steps, because I don't see the dogs in this picture.
Working in the garden.
They are in flight as I write, somewhere over the Atlantic. Thank you for your prayers!
